Join us for plenaries talks given by international leaders in the field of particle science and technology. The plenaries will feature speakers from The Dow Chemical Company, Columbia University, the University of Chicago, University College London and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Jinghai Li

Prof. Li established the Energy-Minimization Multi-Scale (EMMS) model for gas-solid systems. The model has been extended to many different complex systems, and generalized into the EMMS paradigm of computation featuring the structural similarity between problem, modeling, software and hardware, which has been implemented by constructing a supercomputer with capacity of 1 Pflops and has been used widely in chemical and energy industries. He is also engaged research in clean coal technology. Currently, he is devoted to promoting the concept of mesoscience based on the EMMS principle of compromise in competition as an interdisciplinary science.Read more

Nanostructured Biomimetic Interfaces for Sensing and Catalytic Applications

Tuesday, April 25, 2017,
6:00pm to 8:00pm
EDT
Abstract: Living cells produce a variety of macromolecules, including proteins, nucleic acids, phospholipids, and carbohydrates, that serve as functional nanomaterials which self-assemble into cellular components. These components then carry out a diverse array of highly specific cellular functions...Read more
