Joel L. Plawsky is currently the department head of the Howard P. Isermann Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan and his M.S.CEP and Sc.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After graduation, Joel worked optical fiber devices for Corning Inc. in their research division before returning to academia at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Frank van Lier

Frank earned his Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a Master’s in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University. He started his career in Lubrizol’s Process Development Department in Wickliffe, Ohio and subsequently worked in various R&D and Operations roles with increasing levels of responsibility and accountability. During his career Frank has worked at four Lubrizol locations including most recently as General Manager of Lubrizol’s Zhuhai, China manufacturing facility.
