Kahina is currently responsible for building a collaboration platform to unlock new ways to expand the applicability of mRNA-based medicines. This cross-sector effort will advance Merck KGaA Darmstadt Germany’s offerings for the mRNA market via novel lipid nanoparticle formulation and potentially add therapeutic modalities to the Healthcare pipeline. Carrie Simms

Carrie Simms, PhD is a Principal Scientist, Bioprocess R&D, at Pfizer. She joined Pfizer 2.5 years ago and currently a member of the Nucleic Acids Medicines technology development team in Bioprocess R&D. Completed a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Simon Fraser University in Canada followed by post-doctoral training in RNA biochemistry, studying the effects of RNA damage on translation. Additional industry experience at Fimbrion therapeutics, a St Louis biotech focused on development of alternatives to traditional antibiotics.Read more

Ed Wong

Ed Wong is a Principal Scientist in Pivotal Biologics Drug Substance Development at Amgen Inc. He earned his BS degrees in chemical and biomedical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Virginia.
