Young Suk Jo

Young is the founding CTO of Amogy, leading development of ammonia-based energy storage solution for decarbonization of heavy-duty transportation and stationary power generation. Amogy demonstrated the world-first ammonia-powered mobilities, including drone, tractor, class 8 semi-truck, and recently on a Tugboat.

My research focus is on developing methods that allow researchers to acutely perturb biochemical processes, in real time, with fast, reversible, and tunable control. A focus of our work is the development of tools that utilize induced protein interactions that can be activated by light or chemicals to control downstream cellular processes and a variety of protein assemblies and activities. The DEI Taskforce comprises members from the CRE community. Members nominate themselves annually by contacting a member of the taskforce and are elected by the taskforce.
