Biomedical Pioneer
Meet Albert Keung, an AIChE Langer Prize winner and really cool dude. As a chemical engineer and a PhD., Dr. Keung is doing all kinds of great stuff.
Albert heads a research group at North Carolina State University that’s diving deep into DNA by learning how information is stored, accessed and used to create life-saving medicines, make environmentally-friendly biofuels, and even make computing and data storage more user-friendly. And that’s just his day job!
He’s also the co-founder of a highly creative start-up called DANli Data Technologies that’s helping to create an entire DNA-based economy.
Oh, just in case you're wondering about that Langer Prize, it’s awarded for innovation and entrepreneurial excellence.
As Kristi Anseth, the Tisone Distinguished Professor at the University of Colorado and Chair of the Langer Prize selection committee, said, “We were impressed by Dr. Keung's exceptional record of achievements and his creative approaches to solve important problems.” Who wouldn't be?
