Dr. Lois Zachary is an internationally recognized expert in mentoring. Her best-selling books, The Mentor’s Guide, Creating a Mentoring Culture and most recently, The Mentees Guide, have become the primary resources of Fortune 500 companies, government, education, technology, health-care and nonprofit organizations interested in promoting mentoring for leadership and learning.
Dr. Zachary is the president of Leadership Development Services, LLC, a Phoenix-based consulting firm that specializes in leadership and mentoring and the director of its Center for Mentoring Excellence. She has been recognized “as one of the top 100 minds in leadership.” In addition to an extensive list of published articles and columns, she has been guest editor of several adult education journals and periodicals.
Dr. Zachary holds two master’s degrees and earned her a doctorate in Adult and Continuing Education from Teachers’ College Columbia University. She is the founding member and past chair of the Phoenix Athena PowerLink™ Governing Board, a program sponsored by the Phoenix, Arizona Chamber of Commerce, which helps women-owned businesses expand profitably through the use of mentoring advisory panels. Zachary is a member of Charter 100, an organization that recognizes women of achievement who make significant contributions to the community; and has held leadership positions on many community and national boards including the Mentor National Team of the Chicago Public Schools, and the Advisory Council of Arizona State’s University School of Global Management and Leadership.
