Ronald Leng recently retired as a research fellow after a 38-year career with Dow Chemical and Corteva Agriscience (Email: ronleng59@gmail.com). He held roles in large-scale continuous plant operation, specialty film manufacture, and multistep batch processing. The majority of his career was in process development research and scale-up, where he led teams in developing processes and manufacturing strategies for several agrochemical products. His expertise includes scale-up fundamentals, multiphase systems, crystallization, filtration, and cost estimation. He graduated with a BS in chemical engineering from Michigan Technological Univ., holds more than 15 patents, and has authored several papers. He has been active in the Process Development Div. of AIChE, giving several presentations, chairing a scale-up conference, and being awarded the 2013 AIChE Process Development Practice award.
