Américo Ferreira Neto is industrial vice president of Usiminas, the leading company in the flat steel market in Brazil and with steel mills located in Ipatinga (MG) and Cubatão (SP). An electrical engineer from Universidade Santa Cecília, with a specialization in Industrial Automation from Unisantos and an MBA in Project Management from FGV, Américo has a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP). Three decades ago, still at the age of 14, he joined as an apprentice and worked in different areas, starting with central maintenance, maintaining laminations, passing through management positions in the operations management of laminations, and later leading the mills Cubatão (SP) and Ipatinga (MG).
