Kathy Kas

Kathy Kas has 34 years of experience with Rohm and Haas and The Dow Chemical Company. For the first 20 years of her career, Kathy held positions of increasing responsibility in manufacturing, R&D, and finance. For the past 14 years, she has dedicated her career to Process Safety. She is currently the EH&S Fellow at the Dow Chemical Company.  

A senior AIChE member since 1998, Kathy has made a number of contributions to AIChE.  She is a former Chair of the Safety & Health Division and is currently the Chair of the Loss Prevention Symposium. Kathy was the co-editor for the 2014 CCPS book on Layer of Protection Analysis. In support of Dow’s partnership with AIChE's "Doing a World of Good" campaign, she recently organized three faculty workshops in cooperation with the Safety and Chemical Engineering (SAChE) division.   

Kathy has a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Delaware and a MBA from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.  She is a licensed professional engineer in PA, NJ and TX and is a CCPS Certified Process Safety Professional.
