Abstract: The ALE methods in ANSYS/AUTODYN were used to investigate outer explosive shock wave on gas pipeline. The static stress wall resulting from the inner pressure was simulated by applying a stress boundary along the inner wall. The numerical simulation was performed to analyze the effects of gas pressure in gas pipeline, material of pipeline and the limit load of outer explosive shock wave which make damage on elevated pipeline. The simulation result shows that the effect of gas pressure on the damage of pipe can be neglected. But the material of elevated pipe and the limit load of explosive shock wave are very important factors on the damage of elevated pipeline.
