Design and Experimental Study of the CO2 Pipeline Relief Equipment in Industry Scale

Authors

In order to study CO2 pipeline leakage diffusion characteristics, an industrial scale CO2 pipeline (256 m long, 233 mm i.d.) discharge facility was designed. A double membrane blasting device was designed to control CO2 release. The measurement and control system based on the CompactRIO could be used to record data from pressure transducers and thermocouples installed on the long pipe. Under certain conditions, several tests of CO2 release was carried out. The pressures and temperatures on the pipeline, the dynamic pressures and temperatures on the near field of the discharge area, and the discharge flow state were studied. The test shows that the CO2 pipe discharge equipment in industrial scale can meet the test requirements.
