One of the program we developed is stepwise five-years training program for the production engineers who have worked as an employee less than five years in the refinery in order to train them becoming shift chief operator using chemical engineering laboratory equipment and dynamic simulator and etc. This training program is targeted the production engineers who joined the company after 1989.(Heisei era)
As a result, the initial objective was achieved, because 80 percent of the foreman of Idemitsu was replaced by the production engineers who joined the company after 1989.(Heisei era) Furthermore, the level of the training program has been raised to the management level in accordance with the growth of the trainees. ITTC helps the trainees to become the managers and general managers of the refineries.
While generational change of the refinery operators has been progressing, the foreman (security staff) and assistant foreman are trained on initial response at the time of disaster occurrence for maintaining the on-site safety capability using the training plant. New control panel operators are also trained to learn the start-up procedure of the plant.
In view of accidents in recent years, the training is aimed at improving the ability to deal with disasters during the accidents. In particular, assuming trouble at night and holiday, the operating fluctuations of the plan have expand to emergency situations, the training are included the countermeasures to prevent enlargement, and first aid for the disaster, and guidelines for information system of the facility such as the command order system.
Idemitsu released this training system in response to requests from government agencies and other companies.
