Transportation Risk Assessment
The implementation of a risk management program in industrial units of the Camaçari Industrial Complex, coordinated by COFIC - Comitê de Fomento Industrial de Camaçari, has shown positive results to reduce risks to safety, health and environment. The necessity to ensure management of other activities such as transport of industrial materials and products, considered hazardous materials has led to the development of a Risk Management Program of Transport of Hazardous Materials by pipelines and roads, based on typical PSM elements of industries. The Risk Management Program of Road Transport of Hazardous Materials, also coordinated by COFIC, was structured considering national and international references such as: API1, OSHA2, IMA3 , ANTT4 , CETESB5 and others. To ensure compliance to the program, diagnostics were made in the carriers, to develop action plans for each specific segment of the program. This project involves the companies of the Camaçari Industrial Complex and approximately thirty carriers indicated by these companies. This risk management project of the carriers according to industrial units management programs enables the appropriate integration of procedures, practices and risk control with the purpose of protecting people, facilities, environment, and avoid operations outages.
