Identification and Techniques to Improve the Management of Operational Risk in Day to Day Operations
Tuesday, August 13, 2013 - 4:00pm to 4:30pm
The Operational risk levels which are endured on a day to day basis in our plants vary considerably depending on the ongoing program of work. This paper will explore some of the factors which make up Operational Risk and the tools and techniques used to manage them. It will review whether current PSM techniques sufficiently identify and manage all risks, not just those resulting from the more obvious Process Hazards and we will also look at whether these tools can be effective in this dynamically changing environment. We will also layout how these risks have been managed traditionally and how that picture is changing now that technology is being more widely used in the work place. We will look at what has been, what is current and where this will be heading.
