Managing instrumented layers of protection during life cycle/Manejo del ciclo de vida para las capas de protección instrumentadas

Which control measures are the correct ones for the process? The answer is not quite easy. The proper selection of the instrumentation systems has becoming more important nowadays due that regulations and process specifications demand a correct variables selection and control, if it is well configured could lead to a reduction of the uncertainty of the process seen on the likelihood of the presence of an undesired event. The aim of this session is to motivate the controllability concerns of the industrial processes presenting works that are focused on the design, selection and assembly of instrumentation systems. This session looks for papers that describe how the layers of protection are identified during design, integrated and maintained to ensure that they remain healthy and reliable during the life cycle. Es complejo el determinar cuál debe ser el sistema de control adecuado para un proceso. Los cada día más exigentes requerimientos legales y las nuevas implementaciones tecnológicas, hace necesaria la implementación de sistemas intrumentados de seguridad (SIS) robustos que garanticen la controlabilidad del proceso en fase de funcionamineto anormal. Esta sesión invita a la presentación de artículos originales que presenten filosofías, estrategias o arquitecturas para sistemas de control o sistemas SIS. Esta session invita a presentar articulos que describan como las capas de protección se identifican durante el desarrollo del diseño y se mantienen para que funcionen en forma integrada durante la operación para mantener la confiabilidad y seguridad del activo durante el ciclo de vida.
