Modeling of plants today allows a 3D validation of fire fighting systems designs.
It is able to detect early interferences, scope of coverage, location and accessibility of each fire fighting element.
In cases of revamps, it also facilitates the definition of scopes of work.
In this paper, a 3D analysis is presented for a Topping Unit expansion, in which the incorporation of new equipment meant not only the implementation of new fire fighting elements but also relocation of existing ones.
