Dr. Seyi Odueyungbo is Staff Research Engineer at the Chevron Energy Technology Company (ETC), Richmond, CA. He has over 25 years of combined university teaching, research and industrial experience in chemical engineering. He is ETC’s Subject Matter Expert for filtration and solids/liquid separations. He has expertise in heavy oil upgrading, gas conversion (gas-to-liquid), metal recovery and mercury removal technology development and deployment.

While in the academia, he developed and taught classes on industrial pollution abatement, environmental engineering, materials science & laboratories. He also conducted studies on membrane treatment of oily wastewater and ground water remediation processes. His research interests include: physical and chemical waste treatment processes, multiphase reactors and reactions, membrane separation and fluid-particle separations. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, Masters and Ph.D. from Imperial College, University of London, UK.

Dr. Odueyungbo, a senior member of the AIChE, is the current chair of Separations Division’s Area 2f-Fluid Particle Separations. He is also a member of the Research and New Technology Committee (RANTC) and leads AIChE’s Critical Materials Initiatives. Seyi is a Director-at –Large (Membership Chair) for the Northern California AIChE Local Section. He is a member of the ACS and past member of the SPE.

He has published in refereed journals, serves as reviewer and has organized and chaired sessions at technical meetings/conferences. He is an author/co-author of 12 US patents.
