Registration for the tour is now part of the conference registration process.
Conference attendees have the option of attending a tour of the Mineral Carbonation International (MCi) pilot plant at the Newcastle Institute for Energy and Resources. Over the past four years, MCi has combined leading research from the University of Newcastle, University of Sydney, and Columbia University with novel engineering to develop a first-of-its-kind pilot plant facility. A first-generation batch plant has been in operation at the site since the beginning of 2016, with a semi-continuous research pilot plant coming online in mid-2017. The plant contains a range of unit operations aimed at demonstrating and scaling up mineral carbonation technology.
The $15 fee for the tour will cover the cost of the bus to transport attendees to and from the plant site.
