Since 2021, Julian Arevalo has been serving as the Director of Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security (HESS) at FirstElement Fuel (FEF), where he leads the development of the HESS Management System and the associated strategy and programs for the expanding network of Hydrogen Refueling Stations and supporting facilities. Before joining FEF, Julian was the North America Safety Director for Corrpro Companies driving the organization’s safety strategies and execution of corrosion protection projects for the energy and utility segments. Before that, he worked at Chevron in multiple health, environmental, and safety roles in the Downstream and Upstream operations in Latin America and the US. At the beginning of his career, he owned and managed a small business providing safety and environmental supervision for Oil and Gas projects.
Julian holds a MEng. degree in Advanced Safety Engineering and Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and Technology from the University of Leon, and a B.S degree in Industrial Engineering from the National University of Colombia.
He is a Certified Safety Professional, an active officer, and past president of the American Society of Safety Professionals Long Beach Chapter and represents FEF at the Compressed Gas Association and the Center for Hydrogen Safety.
