Markus Sartory, research and project manager at the HyCentA Research GmbH, studied mechanical engineering at the Graz University of Technology and graduated (MSc) in 2006. During his studies, he gained work experience as technical assistant and as research assistant at the institute of electrical power drain engineering and engines. Since 2007 he has continued research on hydrogen technologies at the HyCentA Research GmbH, the first Austrian research centre for hydrogen. He obtained his PhD degree in Technical Sciences Mechanical Engineering at Graz University of Technology in 2018 with distinction. He coordinates multiple projects, e.g. on the production of green hydrogen and on hydrogen refuelling infrastructure. Furthermore, he is trained in the field of explosion prevention, pressure equipment and occupational safety. Markus Sartory received the Energy Globe Award Styria with the project „wind2hydrogen”.
