A hydrogen leak was discovered in Groningen, Netherlands in July 2023. The incident occurred at a Shell fueling station and led to an adjacent bus depot and local businesses being evacuated. It is said that the emergency services were alerted after a hissing sound was heard from one of the hydrogen tanks at the facility. The fire brigade managed to close the main hydrogen valves, temporarily solving the problem.
