Digital Technologies in the Chemical Industry
Digital technologies are increasingly playing a larger role in the chemical industries and are laying the groundwork for future sustainability. This session discusses emerging trends in digital technologies and their practical application to revolutionize operations and accelerate innovation.
FoodTech & Nutrition
An increasing awareness of the need for an environmentally sustainable food supply chain for an ever-growing population, as well as a developing “conscious consumer” audience has led to exponential innovation in food tech and nutrition. From cell-based and plant-based meats, to fermentation of plant-based milk alternatives, we are seeing a fundamental shift in how food and nutrition is perceived, and how consumer awareness is driving innovation. This session explores some of the products and processes that are being developed in this new era of sustainable innovation.
Circular Economies
With plastic pollution one of the most pressing of environmental issues today, designing products that can be “made to be made again” should remain a constant priority for large and small businesses, organizations and individuals. This panel talks about some of the systemic and fundamental shifts that can – and should – be made, not only to build long-term environmental resilience, but also to generate business and economic opportunities.
CleanTech
With global CO2 emissions increasing by 90% since 1970, climate change is a forgone conclusion. The world economy will face increasing challenges in terms of resource scarcity and environment impact. Cleantech presents a substantial opportunity to both remediate the environment impact and for economic growth. From renewable energy, to water and energy efficiency, to electric vehicles and carbon capture technology, investments in clean technology have grown considerably since 2000 with many companies incorporating carbon reduction into their Corporate Sustainability Goals. This panel discusses opportunities and innovations in cleantech.
