Alejandro is originally from Colombia. He has a B.S. in Chemistry and Process Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland (Canada), where he worked under the supervision of Dr Erika Merschrod on vibrational and crystallographic studies of calcium phosphate biomaterials. Currently, he is a PhD candidate at the University of Victoria (Canada) working under the supervision of Dr Katherine Elvira. His research interests focus on the development of microfluidic and lab-on-a-chip technologies for drug discovery and healthcare applications.
