Allison Brown has a masters degree in Marine and Environmental Affairs from University of Washington. She continued her career with a marine conservation organization called OCTO working as their communications and outreach director. There she moderated the marinedebris.info listserv and worked on various projects involving plastics, including the beginning stages of a best practices for plastic pollution prevention website. She lives in Seattle, WA and enjoys getting outside in the mountains as much as possible.
