Anders Ødegård studied chemistry in Trondheim, Norway before he spent almost 5 years at Fraunhofer ISE in Freiburg researching fuel cells and obtained his PhD degree. Since 2005 he has continued research on hydrogen technologies at SINTEF in Norway, covering both fuel cells and electrolysers, from materials development up to large scale pilot projects. Currently Anders Ødegård coordinates a large European project on demonstration of a 10 MW PEM electrolyser at a Shell refinery in Cologne (REFHYNE, ~15 MEURO), and a national hydrogen safety project focussing on handling of large volumes of hydrogen (SH2IFT, ~2.5 MEURO).
