In 2010, Dow Corning hired Andrew Millward into Advanced Silanes Process R&D. As a chemist, he has thoroughly enjoyed nearly a decade there (now Dow), interfacing with the engineers to solve challenges from Product Development to Manufacturing. Starting in the last millennium, his research and professional experience have brought him into contact with fuel cells, metal-organic frameworks, photovoltaic and thermoelectric devices, adsorbents for purification of semiconductor chemicals, ultra-trace and clean room techniques, catalysis and in situ analysis for silicon chemistries, and synthesis and processing of highly hazardous materials (pyrophoric, air- and shock-sensitive, corrosive, toxic). Andrew has earned a PhD (UMich 2005) with several external publications, presentations, patents, and internal technical achievement awards, in addition to raising a family and actively participating in his communities.
