Anja Köhler is a scientist specializing in epigenetics and fluorescence microscopy in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. She completed her master’s degree at the same institution, focusing on cell biology and molecular epigenetics. During her graduate studies, she enhanced her expertise in cell biology in the group of Prof. Daniel Finley at Harvard Medical School, where she developed a keen interest in using fluorescence microscopy to study cellular processes. In 2019, Anja joined Prof. Albert Jeltsch's group at the University of Stuttgart. Her current research includes the development of fluorescence microscopy-based epigenetic sensors to investigate locus-specific epigenome dynamics at the single-cell level. The modular experimental toolbox she created offers novel insights into the spatio-temporal dynamics of various epigenome modifications during cellular differentiation and disease onset.
