
Briardo is a CSIRO Synthetic Biology Future Science Fellow at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, and an Associate Investigator of the Australian Research Council Center of Excellence in Synthetic Biology.
Briardo's current work is focused on implementing synthetic biology approaches to study evolution and developing biotechnological innovations. He is also interested in engineering biological systems to help support the human exploration of space.
Before moving to Australia, Briardo held a position as a Marie Curie Fellow at the GRAG in Barcelona, Spain. Briardo completed his Ph.D. at the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina and worked as a visiting researcher at the Salk Institute in California and the University of Aarhus in Denmark.
