Cheng Zhu is currently an engineer in the Engineering Directorate of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). He received his PhD from Oklahoma State University majoring in chemical engineering with a concentration in solid freeform fabrication of colloidal materials. After that, he took a postdoc position at LLNL and develops core competencies in additive manufacturing. Cheng’s research interests encompass colloidal processing of materials, rheology of complex fluids, direct-write manufacturing, and process modeling and optimization. He also has extensive practical experience in fabricating multiscale functional materials using 3D printing techniques.
