Christoph Bayer, PhD, is a professor of process systems engineering with Technische Hochschule Nürnberg, Germany. He holds mechanical and chemical engineering degrees (Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.-Ing.) from RWTH Aachen Univ., Germany. He was previously a senior engineer with BASF’s Conceptual Process Design Group. Later, he contributed as the team lead for the transformation of engineering and construction work processes. His main focus was on identifying methods that bridged the digital and the real world and boosting their popularity within the company. Bayer holds seven patents.
