Clement Bowman, PhD, is a notable Canadian chemical engineer and the founding chairperson of the Alberta Oil Sands Technology and Research Authority. He is a member of the Order of Canada and recipient of the Global Energy Prize. He received a BSc and a PhD from the Univ. of Toronto in chemical engineering, and spent several years working with DuPont Canada. He has held positions of vice president of Imperial Oil, president of the Alberta Research Council, president of the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE), president of the Chemical Institute of Canada, and president of the Canadian Research Management Association.
