Cliff is a Senior Technical Fellow in the Process Development Department and the Corporate Engineer at the Lubrizol Corporation. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University, an MBA from John Carroll University and a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University.
Over his 45+ year career he has worked in over 35 different positions for Union Carbide Corporation, Standard Oil of Ohio (later BP), Hilite International and Lubrizol as well as working as an independent consultant. His passion is for applying fundamental chemical engineering to industrial problems particularly with process intensification.
Cliff has been the point person for Lubrizol in developing and managing a relationship with the University of Pittsburgh chemical engineering department. He is an Adjunct Instructor at that institution and teaches the Process Safety & Professional Ethics undergraduate class. He also teaches Oil & Gas Engineering at Cleveland State University.
Cliff has been active in AIChE for over 45 years and was the co-chairman of the 2018 Annual AIChE meeting. He also represents Lubrizol on the RAPID Manufacturing Institute’s technical advisory board and on the chemicals & commodity processing sub-committee. He is co-principal investigator on two projects at the University of Pittsburgh jointly with Lubrizol under RAPID sponsorship. In 2018, Cliff was elected a fellow in AIChE.
