Darren McFarlane is Head of Department for Verification and Risk Management Advisory in DNV GL Oil & Gas for region Australia, NZ and PNG. He is a Chartered Principal Engineer and has been working in the Oil & Gas industry for over 10 years for DNV in Aberdeen, China, Malaysia, London and then finally here in Perth where he has helped set up the local office from 2010.
He is a specialist in independent verification of both offshore and onshore oil & gas mega projects. His various roles in these projects include project manager, project sponsor, lead design review engineer and lead surveyor covering all phases through to introduction of hydrocarbons. His key areas of competence include Process, Safety and Fire & Gas verification. He has developed several Verification/Validation Schemes with a thorough understanding of the UK and Australian Safety Case Regimes.
