David Benjamin is a Design Architect and built environment & cultural landscapes researcher and has been a registered architect with the Norwegian Society of Architects since 1986 with completed projects and project designs in Norway, The Bahamas, and the US.

Dr. Benjamin has a Masters in Architecture from Washington University, St. Louis, and a Ph.D. in Architecture from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, where he focused on the relationship between ecology, cultural landscapes, and architecture in pre-historic Scandinavia. He continues to publish in scholarly journals, conference proceedings, and edited books on the cultural and environmental aspects of architecture, the built environment, and natural resource flow, since 1992. He also continues to design and facilitate the different design and organizational transformation stakeholder work, including design charrettes from 1992, based on his training as a Charrette Planner from the National Charrette Institute.

Dr. Benjamin is one of the co-developers and owner of the Norwegian firm Aqua Naturae, A/S, an ecological engineering, and sustainable plant manufacturing firm, innovating products for the environmental services construction sector.

In addition, Dr. Benjamin is a partner of the ecological water consulting firm John Todd Ecological Design, of Massachusetts and is a building designer with his own firm, Photonica, Inc. in the U.S. and David N. Benjamin, Sivilarkitekt MNAL in Norway. He has provided service to the design and wider public communities through acting as the Professional Advisor for architecture/urban design competitions in the U.S. and building design services for civil society organizations, also Native American organizations.
