Dave Foster obtained his B.S. in Chemistry from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1988 and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester in 1999.
He spent over 30 years as industrial scientist/engineer at Eastman Kodak Company, while also teaching fundamental transport phenomena courses at the undergraduate and graduate level at the University of Rochester for the past 14 years.
He received the Engineering Professor of the Year Award for teaching excellence in 2007 and 2012.
He recently joined the authorship of "Fundamentals of Momentum, Heat and Mass Transfer," with James Welty and Gregory Rorrer.
His research interests are at the intersection of transport phenomena and materials science where he works on problems from biotransport and the capture of cancer cells, to CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and modeling of complex transport problems.
