Des O’Grady, PhD, is Market Manager for Particle Systems Characterization at Mettler Toledo AutoChem (Email: des.ogrady@mt.com). He has worked for 10 years with scientists in high-value chemical industries identifying, developing, and supporting in-process particle characterization solutions. He holds a BE in chemical engineering and a PhD in chemical engineering, both from the School of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at University College Dublin. His PhD thesis, entitled “Multi-Scale Characterization of Anti-solvent Crystallization,” focused on the use of in situ particle characterization technologies and novel modeling approaches to design, characterize, and scale up anti-solvent crystallization. As a recognized expert in the crystallization and particle science communities, he regularly contributes at international conferences and has authored many papers on these topics.
