Payam Jamshidi is a Global Mechanical Integrity Lead at Siemens Energy. He is a chartered engineer (CEng) with more than 15 years of experience in asset integrity management technologies with a core technical competency in risk-based inspection (RBI), fitness-for-service, corrosion risk assessment, and process safety related methodologies. He is a certified RBI trainer and a member of various committees, including American Petroleum Institute Recommended Practice 581 (API 581), British Standard (BS) 7910-Annex G, and DS/1 for BS EN 16669. Jamshidi obtained his BS, MS, and PhD in materials science and engineering from the Univ. of London. He then completed his postdoc at the Univ. of Manchester working on advanced material characterization and testing. He worked for seven years at The Welding Institutes (TWI), where some of the approaches toward integrity management of process plants were introduced and developed.
