Dr. Ee-Been Goh is a director in the Upstream Process at Sutro Biopharma. She leads the platform team, which is focused on improving Sutro’s proprietary cell-free platform, with the mission to deliver cost-effective, highly productive, robust and scalable upstream processes at manufacturing scale. As part of this effort, her team is looking to leverage state-of-the-art technology and advanced analytics to deepen the fundamental understanding of the cell-free system. Prior to joining Sutro in 2022, Ee-Been worked at Zymergen and Lygos, both synthetic biology biotech companies in the Bay Area. It was there where she was exposed to the fundamental and emerging challenges of biomanufacturing from the growing applications of synthetic biology and have driven her pursuit to explore novel solutions to overcome these challenges. Ee-Been received her PhD in Microbiology, from University of California, Davis and did postdoctoral training at the Joint BioEnergy Institute at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
