Emina A. Stojković obtained a BA degree in chemistry from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN.  From the University of Chicago,  she received a PhD degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.  Following a postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. Keith Moffat at the University of Chicago, Emina assumed the professorship in the Department of Biology at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, IL.  She is currently co-director of NIH Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) training grant, the only one of its kind in the state of Illinois and Program Coordinator of NIH Institutional Research and Academic Career Development Award (IRACDA) in partnership with the University of Chicago and Chicago State University. Dr. Stojković was the winner of the Judith Flippen Anderson Memorial Lectureship sponsored by Structural Dynamics at the 2023 American Crystallographic Association meeting. Her research uses a combination of X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM to determine how light, as an essential environmental signal, modifies the structure and function of enzymatic photoreceptors.
