Feng He is a senior chemical modeling engineer at Tesla. He is responsible for chemical system modeling and design at the Tesla Gigafactory, which is the biggest lithium-ion battery factory in the world and will be the biggest building by footprint on the planet when finished. From 2015 to 2017, Feng worked for Brewer Science as a process engineer, where he improved the purification process efficiency and automation of microelectronic material manufacturing lines. Feng received B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Tianjin University in 2006, M.S. degree in chemical Engineering at North Carolina State University (NCSU) in 2011. After that, he joined Dr. Fanxing Li’s group as his first graduate student, focusing on the studies of redox particle development, process intensification, and particle attrition behaviors. In 2015, Feng obtained his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from NCSU, with dissertation entitled “Novel redox processes for carbonaceous fuel conversion”.
