Dr Francesca Ceroni is Senior Lecturer in the Dept of Chemical Engineering and member of the Centre for Synthetic Biology at Imperial College London. Francesca graduated in Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies from the University of Bologna and obtained a PhD in Bioengineering from the same university. She then joined Imperial College London as Research Associate in Synthetic Biology in the groups of Prof. Tom Ellis and Prof. Guy-Bart Stan to work on the causes of cellular burden in Escherichia coli. In 2016 Francesca was awarded the Imperial College Junior Research Fellowship to pursue her interests in mammalian synthetic biology and in 2018 she was then appointed Lecturer. Francesca`s group at Imperial is now working on designing and developing cell engineering tools for bioproduction and healthcare applications in the field.
