Gavin Knott, PhD, leads a research laboratory at the Monash University Biomedicine Discovery Institute in Australia. He earned his PhD from the University of Western Australia where he studied long non-coding RNA binding proteins. In 2016, Gavin relocated to the USA where he completed his postdoctoral training in the lab of Prof. Jennifer Doudna at the University of California, Berkeley.
In 2021, Gavin returned to Australia where he established his lab in the Biomedicine Discovery Institute supported by a National Health and Medical Research Council Fellowship. In 2022, Gavin was awarded the Australia’s most prestigious Fellowship, the Snow Medical Fellowship, to support his team in developing the next generation of biotechnologies at Monash University.
