Greg Medlock is a Director in Research and the Head of Analytical Development & Early Stage Process Development at Vedanta Biosciences. Vedanta Biosciences is developing defined bacterial consortia, produced through fermentation of pure cell banks, for the treatment of human diseases. Medlock’s work at Vedanta Biosciences involves design and characterization of microbial communities from the bench to manufacturing. Medlock received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 2019, where he developed experimental and in silico methods for inferring and predicting metabolic interactions between gut microbes. Prior to Vedanta Biosciences, Medlock was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia.
