Guo-li Ming

Dr. Guo-li Ming is currently The Perelman Professor of Neuroscience and a member of Institute of Regenerative Medicine at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.  She received her medical training on Child and Maternal Care from Tongji Medical University in China in 1994 and Ph.D. from University of California, San Diego in 2002. After her postdoctoral training at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, she became an Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins University in 2003 and Professor in 2011. The research in her laboratory centers on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying neuronal development and its dysregulation using mouse systems and patient derived induced pluripotent stem cells. She has received a number of awards, including Charles E. Culpeper Scholarship in Medical Science inn 2003, Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow in 2005, Young investigator award from Society for Neuroscience in 2012 and A. E. Bennett Research Award from Society of Biological Psychiatry in 2014. She becomes a member of National Academy of Medicine in 2019.
