 Hiroshi Izui is General Manager at Biosolution Labs. of Research Institute for Bioscience Products & Fine Chemicals of AJINOMOTO CO., INC., which is one of the largest food company in Japan and also largest manufacturer of amino acids in the world.

 He received his master’s degree of agriculture from Kyoto University in 1992, and joined AJINOMOTO CO., INC. as a researcher of microbiology. He worked for amino acid fermentation and developed novel glutamic acid fermentation strains and process as a team leader of the project. He was also interested in business development using his scientific knowledge and moved to a business department in 2004. From 2004 to 2018, he developed new businesses for AJINOMOTO CO., INC., such as contract research and manufacturing business, cell culture media business and amino acid derivative business.

 In 2018, he returned to a research institute and was assigned to General Manager at Biosolution Labs. in 2019. He is responsible for R&D of biotechnology field in Ajinomoto including amino acid fermentation.
