Itzel Marquez is an Assistant Professor in Environmental Engineering at Central Michigan University. She obtained her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arizona where her research was focused on the removal mechanisms of Trace Organic Compounds from wastewater. She was also a post-doctoral associate at the UA Water and Energy Sustainable Technology (WEST) Center doing research on membrane treatments for wastewater reuse. She has worked and done research in different processes and projects in wastewater treatment for the past 8 years. Her research focuses in wastewater treatment technologies for reuse purposes such as Advanced Oxidation Processes and Membrane Processes.
