Jasneet Pala completed her Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Thapar University and her Master's degree from BITS Pilani, India, graduating with honors. In 2021, she began her Ph.D. at the University of Alabama, focusing on membrane and adsorption technology for water purification. Her research focuses on developing innovative solutions to address fouling and tackle environmental issues, including emerging contaminants such as microplastics and PFAS. Jasneet's dedication to her research is evident through her publications. She is the lead author of a paper in a top journal and has co-authored several related papers, advancing knowledge in her field. Her academic journey is marked by active participation in various competitions and conferences. Jasneet's ability to communicate complex ideas effectively was recognized when she became a finalist in the University's Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. Her poster presentations have earned her third place at the North American Membrane Society (NAMS) conferences in 2023 and 2024, demonstrating her ability to engage with the academic community and share her findings. In 2024, Jasneet received the Elias Klein Travel Support Award, enabling her to attend NAMS conferences and collaborate with experts worldwide. Her achievements underscore her commitment to both academic excellence and professional development. Beyond her research, Jasneet has served as a teaching assistant, mentoring undergraduate students, and helping to inspire the next generation of engineers. She is an active member of professional organizations, including the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and the North American Membrane Society (NAMS). Looking ahead, Jasneet aspires to continue her research in academia or industry, aiming to develop sustainable technologies for water treatment.
