Jefferson C. Lievense, PhD, is Senior Engineering Fellow at Genomatica (Email: jlievense@genomatica.com), a developer/licensor of bioprocess technologies and provider of bioengineering services. He has 34 years of experience in industrial biotechnology, with expertise in the production of chemicals by fermentation, process design/development, process scale-up/scale-down, manufacturing plant support, and technology transfer. He has also contributed to several milestone projects in the industrial biotechnology field (e.g., 1,3-propanediol, farnesene, 1,4-butanediol). He was recognized in 2016 by Biofuels Digest as one of the Top 100 People in the Advanced Bioeconomy. He received his BS from the Univ. of Michigan and his PhD from Purdue Univ., both in chemical engineering. He is a member of AIChE and SBE.
