Jessica E. Nichols, PhD, is a research scientist in the Reactive Chemicals group, situated within Core Research and Development at The Dow Chemical Company (Midland, MI; Phone: 989-633-2339; Email: jnichols1@dow.com). She has been part of Dow since 2018. Jessica’s current role involves the application of calorimetry and flammability measurements in the evaluation of chemical process hazards. She specializes in the assessment of reactivity hazards in discovery-phase and process development research. She is an active volunteer with the AIChE Process Development Div. and has presented at AIChE meetings and to the CCPS Pharma, Food, and Fine Chemicals subcommittee. Nichols received her BSE in chemical engineering from Arizona State Univ., and her PhD in chemical engineering from the Univ. of California, Berkeley.
