Jessica began her journey in chemical engineering as an undergraduate in the School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering in University College Dublin, Ireland.
After graduating in 2002, she worked as an engineer for MSD in Ballydine, Ireland for two years before returning to complete a PhD and postdoctoral research in the areas of bioprocessing, PAT and advanced control under Prof. Brian Glennon. Subsequently, Jessica worked as the Director of Technical Operations for APC, an Irish company providing research services for process development and trouble shooting to the pharma and biopharma industries.
After almost 5 years with APC, she left to take up the role of Associate Director for the Upstream MS&T group at BMS Cruiserath in 2017. During her time there, she contributed to the start up of the new biologics facility in both the project and sustaining phases.
Recently, she rejoined the School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering in UCD to pursue her research interests in the areas of biologics and ATMP development and manufacture. Jessica currently serves as Head of School.
